My colleagues from Nanoscope Therapeutics posted this from the ASGCT conference and I would like to share this with you.   In the Neurologic Diseases poster session on Tuesday, May 17th at #ASGCT2022, Nanoscope Scientific Researcher Darryl Narcisse presented his poster “Optogenetic Modulation of the Central Nervous System for Pain [Board No. M-152]’. There was much interest for Darryl’s presentation with people staying well past the official end of the poster session.

Having worked in the neuromodulation field I congratulate Darryl and share this as an example of the cross-functional appeal of optogenetics and photonics to improve health outcomes whether in rare or existing diseases.   The ability to use light to modulate tissue or to measure the electrical functioning of cells is an amazing tool scientists, and soon, clinicians may be able to use to increase health outcomes.

The great news is that Nanoscope has incorporated these modalities for research use in our Nanoscope Instruments product portfolio: (1) OCT guided ERG (NS-NEEL), (2) OCT-guided Micro-irradiation Laser (NS-TARA) or (3) OCT-guided Gene Delivery Laser (NS-TARA/NS-KAYRA).  Please contact us to learn more!
